The Motovelodrome of Turin hosts the biggest paddle event in the city

An organizational success, but above all a padel party. Both in terms of sport and in terms of participation and guests. At the end of June, Turin hosted the Torino Padel Contest, the biggest padel event in the city, set in a unique and representative space in northern Italy, The Motovelodromo. It is managed by the company Padel M2, a distributor of the brand in the country.

Eight clubs from the city participated, reinforced by a “pro” player as a guest. The Torino Padel Contest was attended by the brand’s players Javi Garrido, world number 17, Coki Nieto, current number 21, Lucas Bergamini, number 28, Ceci Reiter, 3 years world number 1, and local players Luca Mezzetti, the current Italian number 1, and Francesca Campigotto, a former tennis champion. Thanks to the presence of guest players from StarVie and other brands, spectators were able to enjoy a high level of play and a great show.

The competition ended with the victory of Monviso Padel Club, closing a wonderful evening in Turin. All in all, a sweet and pleasant evening experience where sport and fun were shared, with many challenges on the court. It was an event that reflected the growing popularity of padel tennis in every corner of the world.

This initiative also served to present in the best possible way the new look of the Motovelodromo, which is still in the process of restoration.

Inaugurated in May 1920, it has been the scene of many Turinese sports and disciplines ever since. A century ago it was built mainly to give free rein to the great passion of track cycling, and now, more than 100 years later it is home to one of the most fashionable sports, padel tennis.

Thanks to the initiative of the company Padel M2, a StarVie distributor in Italy who took over the structure from the City Council, and their subsequent involvement in the velodrome’s recovery project, the ring of the track that has seen several editions of the Milan-Turin pass, today embraces an 8-court padel space, as well as 4 beach volleyball courts. And all this as a result of a restoration project (currently work in progress), which aims to enhance the original structure of the stadium itself, renewing its functionality for present day use.
